ICBC CLAIMS
Do you have an ICBC claim? Then, you do not need a referral to visit Dr. Guthy for treatment without any out-of-pocket expenses. This also applies to people with WorkSafe BC claims and RCMP or Veteran’s Affairs coverage (Blue Cross). Treatment may be that of Chiropractic and or Registered Clinical Counselling.
ICBC patients no longer need to pay a user fee for all Chiropractic and Registered Clinical Counselling if you visit us within the first 12 weeks of your accident date. You will be automatically allowed 25 Chiropractic treatments and 12 registered Clinical Counselling Sessions with the option of more pending on your needs.
After 12 weeks, we will work with you and ICBC to get the additional treatments approved if required.

Motor Vehicle Injuries occur due to direct, severe impact resulting in possible rotation/impact, acceleration, and deceleration of the body. This can cause fractures, concussion, whiplash injuries leading to neck/back pain and upper/lower limbs pain, soft tissue injuries, headaches, and jaw pain.
The beginning of some symptoms (e.g. pain, swelling or dizziness) may be immediate. But, it is possible to feel the symptoms hours later or even days after the injury.
Psychological trauma can result in the inability to sleep soundly, anxiety, flashbacks or PTSD. In this case, you will also be allowed Registered Clinical Counselling at our clinic through ICBC.
I Suffered Injuries in a Car Accident. What Should I Do?
You should give ICBC a call and set up a claim. You will get a claim number from ICBC.
Remember to bring that claim number to your first appointment.
Is a Medical Doctor Referral Required for Me to Attend Chiropractic or Counselling after My Car Accident?
You don't need a Doctor’s referral if this is a new accident and you seek treatment within 12 weeks of the injury. If, within the 12 weeks, you are able to complete 25 Chiropractic visits, you will require a doctor's referral post that.
You will need an extension for Counselling sessions or Chiropractic treatments or if your injury is more than 12 weeks old.
